My New Lenovo 3000 Y400 (28O)

I have bought a laptop during the PC show last weekend. This model was sold at 1669 with 2G of RAM. Even thought it is not the best offer that one can get in the show, it is actually much cheaper than the outside price. (p.s. after read today's ST, I felt a little bit regret as the replacement model Y410 is out.

This model comes with the following specifications:

Intel® Centrino® Duo processor Technology
- Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T5500 (1.66GHz 2M L2 Cache)
Genuine Windows® Vista™ Home Basic
1GB DDR2 SDRAM
120GB SATA HDD
Dual Layer Multiburner Drive (DVD RW)
14.1" widescreen WXGA with VibrantView
nVidia® GeForce® GO 7300 (Discrete) Graphic Card with up to 256 MB TurboCache™
3-in-1 MultiCard Reader (SD, MMC, MS)
Integrated Bluetooth/ IEEE1394
2x 1.5W speakers with chamber and 2W subwoofer
Travel Weight 2.4Kg
Shuttle Control with Multimedia buttons
The reason that i chose this model is due to nVidia 7300 graphic card and the hidden touchpad which looks really cool.

The O.S for this computer is vista basic and it can be recovered from a hidden partition by press the recover key while the laptop is off. Recover of vista is really easy. However install Debian etch is not simple and need to get a few drivers and patches fixed. I will update the complete installation of Debian in a later post.
